Jason and I stopped in at a Teaching supply store a few days ago. Lorraine and I had visited like 1.5 years ago, at the time Hunter was barely upright and far too young for 99% of the stuff they had. But I knew I wanted to go back and now was the perfect time. He's just the right age for it. It was quite fun. I've always been enamored and scared at the idea of homeschooling, but we've enjoyed the early start of home education with some fun workbooks.

Lovely weekend.

We ran out of diapers on Thurs and didn't buy any until this afternoon and somehow made it through with only two accidents. Not too bad! He's refused to try going potty at daycare all of a sudden so I have to use diapers for that but I'm trying to leave him in undies at home and he does so well, even all night at home. It's a frustrating sort of thing as we're just hanging on the last wire of diapers.

We got new shoes, he's now a 6.5-7. They're Lightning McQueen sandals that light up. He's never happy with them at first and yelled and hollered for his "fire truck boots" but he adjusts pretty fast.

Spent yesterday chilling at home and today over at Jason's, so without further adieu...

Time continues to fly by. :-)

It was Uncle Dan's 25th birthday on the 13th. We had his party on the 16th. Not a huge or spectacular affair, I'd been sick for days. Hunter was also a bit sick and tantrum'd through most of it until I put him to bed in the middle of dinner. It was also his friend Jakob's third birthday. And work on pottying!

Hunter's back at daycare!

It's been very exciting for both of us. He's absolutely loving it and it's so wonderful. I know the daycare very well, it's the same one he was at before. It's the first time they've ever had 3 year olds (used to just be 0-3) and everyone is loving it. There's another 3 year old there as well and they're becoming fast friends again.

I'm back at school and the days have just been passing so fast.

The other good news is that we're getting very close to Hunt being out of diapers. He's pooped on the potty a couple times now and we've only had one accident during nearly a week of totally diaper free days (save for naptimes and nights) and that was early on. It's sliding a bit because we're out during the day and they don't try to potty train them at the daycare but I hope that more diaper free when we are home might get this whole diaper thing done with in the next couple weeks or so.

Just a quickie update..



Hunt's doing excellent on the potty. I really didn't even purposely start with him, he rather just started up on his own randomly. And in the past three days he's used it at least once a day.

He really seems to understand telling me that he has to go. He'll come say "potty sit!" and usually within 1-2 minutes of sitting him down, he'll go pee. No poop yet but it's such excellent progress. And he'll usually stay sitting until he's quite sure he's done, then insist on a "new diaper!"

Amusingly, he seems to think he's peeing honey.

Hunter and I have started working on getting him out of diapers. Yay for potty training! He's finally at a good stage to begin, we think. He dislikes dirty diapers, he'll come up and grab his crotch and say "Potty! Potty!" until I change him. And he's interested in the potty chair and toilet. So hopefully we'll have some progress. He spent quite the morning being fascinated with it and wanting tos it on it and play with his cars, taking it apart and saying "Potty" a zillion times. He seemed to think the catcher cup was a hat (hmm, might have to be careful there). I let him run around naked for a bit hoping to be able to rush him to the pot if he started going, but nothing. Eventually went to lay down for a bit and put his diaper back on, which he took off when I wasn't looking (uh oh, bad new habit in the making?).
