The summer just keeps moving, I can't believe how busy we've been! There's been a lot of downtime, but you just don't feel it when you're hustling so much to all these places. It's been amazing. :-D

Yesterday it was off with Lolo to Beacon Hill Petting Zoo to see the new baby piglets.

Oink Oink! )

It was the 2008 trip to Fort Rodd Hill today. I got a little snap happy and ended up taking almost 300 pictures, which I was only able to weed down to 230 pictures. Needless to say, I've picked about 40 from the Fort and 15 or so from Fisgard Lighthouse, which I'll break up into two entries.

Since we did go last year, you can view most of the "regular" pictures in that entry. I've mostly only included some of the stuff that was new. I managed to get lots of sign pictures so I can actually write up stuff this time!

Onward Tour Ho!!! )

Off to Chemainus with Jason and Damon today to see Uncle Gerald & Aunt Val (And Deeogee). Quite a fun trek! Had dinner then headed up to Nanaimo for a short drop-in at a family gathering with Cousin Wendy. Then back home with a 1.5 hour delay on the Malahat due to an accident. Hunter was quite an angel during the whole trek, what a trooper.

We took Hunter to Western Speedway for the first time today. It was amazing!!! I think I had more fun but he still enjoyed it a lot. ;-) We arrived at 6ish for the time trials and stayed until almost 10 and the event was only half over when we left. Lots of fun. Mini Van Figure 8s, car jump, mini figure 8s and the main event of a 20 lap bump to pass which had lots of destruction. He was happy once we got him the earmuffs, but got restless (fair enough so) after about 2-2.5 hours. What a time!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there! We headed back to Saanich Historical Museum for a second time. I think he enjoys it even more every time we go.

Off to the Build-A-Bear shop today!

Ended up being a bit of a flop. Despite having had a decent nap, Hunter was mostly tired and whiny well before we got the mall. It was also a bit of an overload anyway. So we only spent about 6 minutes inside the store and he looked at this or that and mostly found some $45 cars he was determined to tackle and sit in even though they were far too small. When I try to get him to pick out the bear shell, he shook his head on every single one then tried to dismantle the window display. After that he had a mini meltdown when I didn't let him continue on his destructive reign so I just hauled him out of the store.

We headed off to Willows Beach for a bit and picked up some dinner, and that was fun. He's becoming so physical these days, running more, climbing more, jumping and tackling a lot of things he wouldn't have a while back...such as wobbly bridges and bigger heights.

Isaac came over this afternoon again!

We always get so busy with company. I had originally bought this pool when Hunter was just a wee babe and it's like 4 feet across, way too big for him at the time so we moved to a smaller pool...which is now very much too small, especially with company. I came across it the other day sorting things in the garage. I had thought I'd given it away in our charity pick up! I was so happy when I found it. Today was hot hot hot! Perfect pool weather to test it out and it's good as ever! The boys had a blast.

My aunt Laurel, mum and I trundled little guy down to Undersea Gardens this afternoon. Man, what a total and utter disappointment really. For $9.50 for an adult, you go down this huge flight of stairs for one. There's no wheelchair or stroller access, nor were we even warned. Not a huge deal but slightly annoying. Then it's like 30 feet long with some windows and fish. I remember it being a lot more exciting when I was younger. Definitely too much money for that. But it was new and Hunter enjoyed it decently well, especially the star fish. They even had a small pool where he could touch them, which he did.

We stopped and had lunch at the museum cafe, where they made a special chocolate milk just for him. Ah yes, always the royal treatment for his Princelyness. We got a nice window seat so he could watch the cranes working away and steal all the "raise!" (raisens) out of our muffin.

More pix this way! )
